Candle Safety Information: Burning a Candle in a Mineral-Based (Jesmonite) Case
-
Always place your candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface. Mineral-based containers are durable but can be damaged by extreme heat.
-
Never leave a burning candle unattended. Always extinguish your candle before leaving the room or going to sleep.
-
Keep the candle away from flammable materials, children, and pets.
-
Trim the wick to ¼ inch before each burn to ensure a clean, even flame and reduce soot.
-
Do not burn the candle for more than 3-4 hours at a time. Allow the wax and container to cool before relighting.
-
Avoid moving the candle while lit or when the wax is liquid to prevent spills and burns.
-
Never burn the candle with the lid on.
-
Do not burn your candle all the way down to the base. Leave at least 1cm (about ½ inch) of wax to prevent overheating or cracking of the container.
-
When the wax level gets low, discontinue use to avoid damage to the candle container and reduce fire risk.
-
If the container becomes very hot, extinguish the candle and allow it to cool. Excessive heat can cause cracking or damage over time.
